Every June, we recognize Brain Injury Awareness Month to highlight the impact of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and educate the community. Worldwide, 69 million people sustain a TBI annually, affecting not just individuals but their families and caregivers.
Living with a brain injury is life-changing. Families often struggle emotionally and practically, facing anxiety, depression, and uncertainty. Spouses may feel isolated, and children can experience distress, affecting their well-being. Despite these challenges, families that embrace flexibility and communication often find strength, deepening their bonds through recovery.
As we take this month to recognize the impact of TBI, we wanted to share the story of a young man whose life was forever altered by a workplace accident. His journey serves as a powerful testament to the resilience of brain injury survivors and their families.
Overcoming Traumatic Brain Injury:
A Family’s Unwavering Commitment to Healing

At just 24, the patient’s life changed forever after a workplace accident. He was electrocuted, which led to cardiac arrest and left him brain dead for eight minutes before resuscitation. The trauma resulted in a severe brain injury, stripping him of movement, speech, and the ability to tolerate touch without pain. His body was locked in spasticity, his head remained in a chronic forward posture, and his limbs were severely affected. He also faced aphasia, neuropathic pain, hypersalivation, and reliance on enteral nutrition.
Since joining our clinic and working with a holistic care team, he has made incredible progress. His head control has improved—he can now keep his head up and centered. His lower limbs tolerate weight-bearing better, and his spasticity releases more quickly. He engages more, responds to humor, and communicates through expressions and sounds.
Most notably, he has gained 10 lbs since coming to our clinic. Prior to this, his parents were deeply concerned about his ongoing weight loss. His weight has now stabilized, his digestive health has improved, and he continues making strides in mobility and interaction. His journey proves that treating the whole person leads to meaningful progress. His family’s unwavering love and support have fueled his recovery, showing that healing is about more than medical interventions—it’s about connection, persistence, and hope.
To the patient and his family—your resilience inspires us. Progress is possible, and we celebrate each milestone with you.

Featured Products of the Month
NFH Acetyl L-Carnitine SAP
Acetyl L-Carnitine is a powerful nutrient that supports brain healing after TBI. It helps deliver energy to brain cells by boosting mitochondrial function, which is often impaired after an injury. It also acts as an antioxidant, protecting neurons from further damage and supporting the regeneration of brain tissue. Research suggests it can improve mental clarity, memory, and reduce fatigue—making it a valuable ally in neurological recovery.

Cyto-Matrix Omega Liquid Forte
Omega-3s—especially DHA and EPA—play a crucial role in healing after a traumatic brain injury (TBI). These essential fats help repair brain cell membranes, reduce inflammation, and protect against further damage. They’ve also been shown to support memory, focus, mood, and overall cognitive recovery. Whether through diet or supplements, adding omega-3s can be a valuable part of a holistic recovery plan.
Probiotics: Supporting Brain Healing Through the Gut
After a TBI, the gut-brain connection becomes more important than ever. Probiotics help restore balance to the gut microbiome, which plays a key role in reducing inflammation, supporting immune health, and regulating mood. Since TBI can disrupt gut function and increase systemic inflammation, adding high-quality probiotics may improve digestion, mental clarity, and emotional resilience—offering a gentle but powerful way to support recovery from the inside out.
You can find these products at our clinic, and enjoy 10% off your purchase when you show this message. It’s a great opportunity to take advantage of these powerful supplements in your recovery plan.
