Couples and family work may sometimes require or benefit from longer sessions. The cost of these sessions are prorated based on the hourly rate and is discussed prior to first session.
We offer community rates (sliding fee scale*) for clients who require additional financial accommodations.
Every therapist at Complete Balance Counselling offers community rates. We do this to ensure that we can get our clients the best fit. However, therapists do have limited community rate spots – this may mean you might be waitlisted or offered alternative therapists who may have current availability and be a good fit for you.
*Limited community rates available on a case-by-case basis. Documentation may be required.
Insurance Coverage
Fees for counselling services are not covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). We encourage you to check with your private health insurance as plans could cover a partial or full amount of your counselling.
Our services are covered, fully or partially, by most insurance plans. You are encouraged to investigate the provisions of your particular extended health benefits package. Services may be covered by your extended healthcare benefits under Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker.

Insurance Coverage, Payment & Policies
Insurance coverage
If you have extended health coverage, most insurance providers cover all or part of the cost of acupuncture treatments, chiropractic services, massage therapy, and naturopathic services. We recommend you check with your insurance company to see what your policy offers and whether there are any restrictions on the types of treatments and illnesses they cover. If you do not have health coverage for these services and require financial assistance, please contact our clinic for more information regarding our Community-based acupuncture treatments.
Payments accepted
We accept most forms of payment including Debit, Visa, MasterCard, E-transfers and American Express. All prices listed above are subject to taxes with the excluding those related to acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathic, psychotherapy and physiotherapy.
Cancellation and missed appointment policy
Please give us a 24 hour notice if you would like to cancel or reschedule an appointment so that we have time to schedule in other patients who may need that time slot. If the notice must be given outside of clinic hours, please leave a voice message or send us an email. Any appointments that are cancelled, rescheduled or missed without a 24 hour notice will result in a charge for the full appointment amount.
Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Claims Accepted
Our clinic is officially licensed under FSRA (formerly known as FSCO). We understand that unfamiliar processes and paperwork could interfere with your recovery and even cause further stress and anxiety. Therefore, we handle the submission of individualized treatment plans and invoices on behalf of MVA clients. This includes the completion of OCF documents for major and minor injuries, direct billing of invoices, and communication with lawyers and insurance adjusters related to your medical claim.
